Compare
Peek Pro is an activity booking platform. Peek’s own marketing describes pricing as custom and quote-based — not a public monthly rate card. Slipstack is the other model: a custom website and boat rental booking software we stand up for you, payments in your Stripe, and 0% of the trip to Slipstack. $999/month. Stripe processing still applies.

Who, how, why
Slipstack. We design the website and stand up booking, Stripe, waivers, and ops for 1–10 boat rental and charter shops. Live examples: Boat Bros ATX (Lake Austin) and Nasty Sport Fishing (Cabo San Lucas).
Percentages on these pages are approximate figures already used across Slipstack (about 6% for FareHarbor; 6–8% online for Peek Pro), not a scraped vendor invoice. The live worksheet row is Boat Bros ATX’s 134-day season: $121k booked trip value. Confirm current fees with the vendor. We do not invent official 2026 rate cards.
Operators type “what does FareHarbor cost” and “Peek Pro pricing” because the vendors do not publish a public monthly plan. One comparison URL per vendor — pricing, fees, and alternative — so we do not split that intent across five synonym pages.
Who Slipstack is for
Boat rental operators who want guests to finish checkout on their own domain, keep the customer record, and stop sending a percentage of every online booking to the platform. Slipstack Full is for 1–10 boat shops. If you want Peek’s marketplace and self-serve activity catalog, Peek may still be the better product.
Cost model
Peek’s marketing site says pricing is custom and quote-based rather than a published monthly plan, and describes the model as commission-based. Slipstack pages use “6–8% online” as an approximate range already used across this site — an estimate of the tax operators feel, not Peek’s current contract. Third-party blogs disagree with each other (some describe $0/month plus a percentage; some describe paid tiers). We will not pick one of those posts as official. Confirm the written fee schedule with Peek. Slipstack’s own number is public: a flat monthly subscription and 0% booking commission. Stripe still charges normal processing fees to your account.

Peek Pro
How the model works
Peek Pro is a tours-and-activities booking platform. On its own site it describes pricing as custom and quote-based, not a fixed public monthly plan, and it labels the model as commission-based. The cost operators argue about is the percentage attached to online bookings, plus whatever card processing the account uses. We will not publish a fake “official 2026 Peek rate card,” and we will not treat conflicting third-party blogs as Peek’s terms. If a number is on this page, it is labeled as the approximate 6–8% range already used on Slipstack, or a worksheet from our own operator data.
Worksheet, not their invoice
Replace the 6% and 8% cells with whatever Peek puts in your contract. The live row uses one Slipstack operator’s season already published on this site.
| Scenario | Booking value | ~6% (low end of our range) | ~8% (high end) | Slipstack ($999/mo, 0%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One $1,200 charter | $1,200 | ~$72 | ~$96 | $0 of the fare |
| 50 trips at $1,200 | $60,000 | ~$3,600 | ~$4,800 | $999 that month |
| Live Lake Austin season (134 days) | $121k booked trip value | ~$7,275 (the 6% figure already used on Slipstack proof) | ~$9,680 at 8% of $121k | $4,500 across those months at $999/mo × ~4.5 |
The 6–8% columns are the approximate Peek Pro online range used on Slipstack pages, not Peek’s live rate. Card processing still applies on Slipstack via Stripe. The $4,500 line is $999 × the same 134-day window already cited on this site (~4.5 months), rounded — still not your P&L.
Questions to ask
Ask Peek — and any alternative — in writing. Do not decide from a comparison blog.
Direct website, walk-up, Peek.com / marketplace, OTA/API, offline. Who pays the line item — you or the guest?
Website, POS, waivers, SMS, hardware, implementation. A commission platform can still stack bills next to the percentage.
Your merchant account, or theirs. What happens on refunds, chargebacks, and how often you are paid.
If the customer list or the URL is trapped, the switching cost is not the percentage — it is the years of demand.
When each model fits
You want Peek.com / marketplace demand, a wide self-serve activity catalog, mobile-first conversion tools, or you are not trying to own checkout on your domain.
You run 1–10 boats, you want guests to finish on your site, you want Stripe in your account, and a percentage of a good Saturday is the bill you hate. That is the Slipstack lane.
Ownership and control
Slipstack provisions a database you own, connects your Stripe, and launches booking on a site that is yours. Peek is a booking and marketplace product. We will not invent Peek’s data-ownership or payout rules. The claims below are about Slipstack.
Website and booking
Peek typically sits behind a book button on whatever website you already run. Slipstack builds the website, inventory, checkout, deposits, remaining balances, and waivers as one system so the guest never leaves your brand to pay.
Feature comparison
Honest trade-offs. Peek Pro still wins on marketplace reach and self-serve setup. Slipstack wins when you want the site, the Stripe account, and the customer.
| Topic | Slipstack | Peek Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Cost model | Flat $999/month and 0% of the booking to Slipstack. | Percentage-based online booking. Slipstack pages cite an approximate 6–8% online range. |
| Payments | Your Stripe account. Deposits and remaining balances land with you. | Checkout runs through the Peek booking product. We do not document Peek’s merchant setup here. |
| Customer records | Your database, isolated from other operators. Export any day. | Guest data lives in Peek. Export terms are Peek’s. |
| Website | Custom design on your domain, built around boats, trips, and booking — not a template. | Usually a widget or booking flow on an existing marketing site. |
| Waivers | Included and filed against the booking. | Often a separate waiver tool connected to the booking platform. |
| Implementation | Done-for-you launch in about a week, including migration of what’s already on the books. | Self-serve configuration is the usual Peek path. |
| Marketplace | Direct booking only. No marketplace branding on checkout. | Marketplace distribution is a reason operators choose Peek. |
| Fit | Boat rental and charter, typically 1–10 boats. | Tours and activities more broadly, including shops outside Slipstack Full’s size lane. |
If you bought Peek for network demand or a wide activity catalog you manage yourself, Slipstack is not that product. We build the operator’s own site and booking engine.
If the online percentage is what you want off the P&L, a flat monthly fee plus your Stripe account is the other model. We do not claim Peek cannot book boats. We claim you should not have to rent your customers to do it.
Migration
Same launch path as every Slipstack shop: migrate what’s booked, test a real card, then flip the link.
01
Trips, boats, rates, deposit rules, waiver language.
02
We design the front end and load the fleet so availability, holds, and overlap rules are real.
03
Existing reservations come across. Stripe is yours; we test it end to end before cutover.
04
Flip the booking link outside the busy window and train the crew.
Full launch path: how it works.
