Who
Slipstack. We design the website and stand up booking, Stripe, waivers, and ops for 1–10 boat rental and charter shops. Live examples: Boat Bros ATX (Lake Austin) and Nasty Sport Fishing (Cabo San Lucas).
Compare
FareHarbor is a booking platform many operators already know. Slipstack is a different job: a custom website and boat rental booking software we stand up for you, with payments in your Stripe account and 0% of the trip going to Slipstack. $999/month. Card processing still pays Stripe, not us.
Published by Slipstack. We launch this stack for live rental and charter operators — how it works.

Who, how, why
Slipstack. We design the website and stand up booking, Stripe, waivers, and ops for 1–10 boat rental and charter shops. Live examples: Boat Bros ATX (Lake Austin) and Nasty Sport Fishing (Cabo San Lucas).
Percentages on these pages are approximate figures already used across Slipstack (about 6% for FareHarbor; 6–8% online for Peek Pro), not a scraped vendor invoice. The live worksheet row is Boat Bros ATX’s 134-day season: $121k booked trip value. Confirm current fees with the vendor. We do not invent official 2026 rate cards.
Operators type “what does FareHarbor cost” and “Peek Pro pricing” because the vendors do not publish a public monthly plan. One comparison URL per vendor — pricing, fees, and alternative — so we do not split that intent across five synonym pages.
Who Slipstack is for
Boat rental and charter shops that want guests to book on their own site — not a marketplace stall — and that are tired of a percentage of every trip leaving with the booking tool. Slipstack Full is built for 1–10 boat operations. If you need a self-serve catalog across many activity types, or marketplace distribution, FareHarbor may still fit better.
Cost model
FareHarbor does not publish a public rate card on its marketing site. Slipstack pages use “about 6% per booking” as an approximate figure already used across this site — an estimate of the tax operators feel, not a quote of FareHarbor’s current contract. Third-party writeups also describe a $0/month subscription with a percentage added at checkout; treat those as reports, not FareHarbor’s terms. Plans, add-ons, who pays the line item, and processing rules vary. Confirm the written fee schedule with FareHarbor. Slipstack’s own number is public: a flat monthly subscription and 0% booking commission. Stripe still charges normal processing fees to your account.

FareHarbor
How the model works
FareHarbor is widely described as a booking platform with no public monthly list price — you get a quote in onboarding. The cost operators argue about is the percentage attached to bookings, often passed through at checkout as a booking or convenience fee, plus whatever card processing the account uses. We will not publish a fake “official 2026 rate card.” If a number is on this page, it is labeled as approximate, already used on Slipstack, or a worksheet from our own operator data.
Worksheet, not their invoice
Replace the 6% cell with whatever FareHarbor puts in your contract. The live row uses one Slipstack operator’s season already published on this site.
| Scenario | Booking value | ~6% (approximate) | Slipstack ($999/mo, 0%) |
|---|---|---|---|
| One $1,200 charter | $1,200 | ~$72 | $0 of the fare |
| 50 trips at $1,200 | $60,000 | ~$3,600 | $999 that month |
| Live Lake Austin season (134 days) | $121k booked trip value | ~$7,275 (the figure already used on Slipstack proof) | $4,500 across those months at $999/mo × ~4.5 |
The 6% column is the approximate FareHarbor figure used on Slipstack pages, not FareHarbor’s live rate. Card processing still applies on Slipstack via Stripe. The $4,500 line is $999 × the same 134-day window already cited on this site (~4.5 months), rounded — still not your P&L.
Questions to ask
Ask FareHarbor — and any alternative — in writing. Do not decide from a blog.
Direct website, walk-up, OTA/API, offline. Who pays the line item — you or the guest?
Website, waivers, SMS, SEO packages, hardware. A $0/month platform can still stack bills.
Your merchant account, or theirs. What happens on refunds and chargebacks.
If the customer list or the URL is trapped, the switching cost is not the percentage — it is the years of demand.
When each model fits
You need marketplace / OTA distribution, a huge multi-activity catalog, self-serve onboarding, or you are not trying to own checkout on your domain.
You run 1–10 boats, you want guests to finish on your site, you want Stripe in your account, and a percentage of a good Saturday is the bill you hate. That is the Slipstack lane.
Ownership and control
Slipstack’s pitch is ownership: your Stripe account, your customer records, your domain. FareHarbor is a booking platform you add to an operation. We are not listing FareHarbor’s internal data-export or payout rules here. The difference we will stand behind is what Slipstack actually delivers.
Website and booking
Most operators keep a marketing site and drop a third-party booking widget on it. Slipstack designs the website around live inventory, checkout, deposits, remaining balances, and waivers so guests never bounce to a marketplace to finish the booking.
Feature comparison
Honest trade-offs. FareHarbor still wins on marketplace reach and self-serve setup. Slipstack wins when you want the site, the Stripe account, and the customer.
| Topic | Slipstack | FareHarbor |
|---|---|---|
| Cost model | Flat $999/month. 0% of the booking to Slipstack. Stripe processing still applies. | Percentage-based booking economics. Slipstack pages cite about 6% per booking as an approximate operator cost. |
| Payments | Guests pay into your Stripe account. Slipstack never sits on the money and never takes a cut. | A booking platform in the middle of checkout. We do not document FareHarbor’s merchant-of-record setup here. |
| Customer records | Guests live in a database provisioned for your company. Export them. They are not a row in a marketplace. | Guest data lives in the booking platform you already run. Export and ownership terms are theirs. |
| Website | We design a custom site for your brand on your domain — not a template and not a marketplace skin. | Typically a widget or booking flow added to whatever site you already have. |
| Waivers | E-sign is included in the monthly fee and filed on the booking — not a second vendor bill. | Waivers are often a separate product you connect or pay for on top of booking. |
| Implementation | Done-for-you. Intake, site, Stripe, migration, then go-live in about a week. | Self-serve setup is the usual path. You configure the catalog and embed the book button. |
| Distribution | Direct booking on your domain. No marketplace branding on checkout. | Marketplace / network distribution is a common reason operators stay on FareHarbor. |
| Fit | Charter and boat rental shops, typically 1–10 boats. | Broad tours-and-activities booking, including operators larger than Slipstack Full’s 1–10 boat lane. |
If marketplace distribution, a huge activity catalog, or self-serve onboarding is the product you bought, Slipstack is not a clone of that. We replace the disconnected stack for operators who want the booking to live on their own site.
If the booking tool is renting you your own customers, a flat fee plus your Stripe account is the other model. We migrate what is already on the books, test a real card, then flip the booking link.
Migration
We do not ask you to empty the calendar first. Existing reservations come across. The old book button stays up until payments are tested on Slipstack.
01
Trips, rates, boats, seasons, deposit rules, and waiver language — the same day-one work as any Slipstack launch.
02
Custom front end from your brand and photos. Live availability, holds, deposits, remaining balances.
03
Bookings already on the books come across. We run a real card with you before anything public flips.
04
Flip the booking link outside your busy window and train the crew. About a week from the day you say go.
